Originally from Congo, YVANOVITCH MBAYA studied visual arts at the National School of Fine Arts in Brazzaville. He then participated in the first two editions of the Rencontres Internationales d’Art Contemporain organized by the Les Ateliers Sahm art centre in Brazzaville and won the second prize in painting in 2012. From 2012 to 2013, he participated in the Contrast workshop in Brazzaville, then in the Festival Étonnants Voyageurs. At the end of 2013, he left for West Africa to continue his research on traditional water-related religions and presented his work in Lomé at the end of 2014. Upon his arrival in Morocco in 2015, he participated in the first three editions of Arkane Afrika and several group exhibitions. Since 2016, his work has been presented in various international exhibitions and festivals in Senegal, Morocco, France and Turkey.
