AN OBSESSIVE LOVE

The Japanese artist, Kensuke Koike, known for his manipulations of vintage photography images, falls madly in love with a stranger he discovers in images at the Paris flea market. In residence at SEPTIEME Gallery from November 25 to December 13, 2019, he will perform, from about fifty reproductions of this image, as many manipulations and reconstructions, lining the gallery as he goes along with his surrealist creations fed by an obsessive love for a woman he never knew.

 

THE RESIDENCE

With this project, SEPTIEME Gallery and THE ROOM will associate Kensuke Koike’s artistic practice with the gallery space, which will be transformed into a place of creation where visitors will be able to discover the artist inhabited by his obsession.

 

THE EXHIBITION

The residency will be followed by an exhibition of the works created, curated by the independent curator and founder of THE ROOM, Alessandra Chiericato.
